This class is offered for everyone who has presented themselves as a candidate for membership since the last new member’s class, or anyone who is considering church membership and has not previously taken the class. This class is considered an entry point to church membership.
The class material and discussion will focus on the basic disciplines of the Christian life, what Baptists believe, how our church is organized, what is expected of church members, and how you can be involved. In this seminar, there will be opportunity for you to ask questions and share with others as you desire. This class is an entrance point into the membership of our church, but you do not have to commit to membership to attend. If you do have a desire to join our fellowship, there will be opportunity for you to do so. This is an effort to get to know others and to give opportunities to share and for all of us to grow together.
The class will also include some things that will assist our Leadership Development Team in plugging people into ministry such as a session about passions for ministry, spiritual gifts, and relational styles. It is our church's goal to have every member connected to our church in Sunday morning Bible study classes as well as in a ministry for which they are best suited. God has put all of us together for His purposes and has a plan for each of our lives. As we journey together and serve together, we begin to become like a family.
Since several people have expressed an interest in joining our fellowship, we are going to try having a one-day Starting Point seminar on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 9 am to 4 pm. A mid-day meal will be served. The class will be led by Pastor Burcham as well as some of the staff. If you are interested in taking this class, please reserve a spot by calling the church office by Monday, January 23. In case of inclement weather, the class will be postponed to Sat., February 4.
