For weather related cancellations

Our phone tree has the capability of contacting everyone who is in our church data base. In the event of a weather related cancellation, you will receive an automated phone call from the church with information. You will also be able to hear about the cancellation on WTOP 103.5 FM or WTOP.com. You will see it on our homepage at www.firstbaptistum.com.

In an effort to simplify the process of getting out the word regarding cancellations due to inclement weather conditions, we are implementing a color coding system. If you think in terms of the colors of a traffic light, you will have no problem with this system. 

 Please listen for the one of the following codes:

	Code Red means that all services, classes, and activities are cancelled.
	Code Yellow means that both DiscipleLIFE sessions (9:00 and 10:45 am) are cancelled and there will be one worship service at 10:45. Preschool care will not be provided. Parents are welcome to bring their children (of all ages) to the worship service or make use of one of the many comfort rooms.
	Code Green means that all systems (DiscipleLIFE classes and Worship services) are a go!  You may not receive a phone call about code green, but you will be able to confirm it through our website.

    In the events that we have to make an adjustment to our schedule, you will receive a telephone call from our phone tree. 

      It is vital that we have a working number programmed into our phone tree.  If you have not been receiving phone tree calls, please indicate that on the tear off portion of the church bulletin. We will be sure to change the number in the phone tree so that you can receive calls.
